The Sustainable Somerset special interest group plans and develops programs focused on clean energy, energy audits, the legal aspects of ‘green’, and other subjects promoting a brighter, cleaner future. This group helps promote member companies that have either expertise or interest in these areas as well as encourage a partnership with the Somerset County Energy Council in the promotion of sustainability. Sustainable Somerset is also responsible for funding opportunities with utility companies and the NJ BPU programs. Meets second Tuesday of each month, 9:00-10:30 AM. This month we will be joined by NJ Board of Public Utilities Commissioner Zenon Christodoulou.
Dr. Zenon Christodoulou was nominated to the NJ Board of Public Utilities by Governor Phil Murphy in March of 2022 and unanimously confirmed by the full senate in August of the same year.
Prior to his tenure at the NJ Board of Public Utilities, Dr. Christodoulou enjoyed a distinguished career in business, academia, and philanthropy. He spent decades as a management consultant and has owned successful businesses in various industry sectors. Additionally, he has taught as an adjunct professor for 25 years in NYC and NJ, educating undergraduate and graduate students in organizational behavior, innovation management, and strategy development.
Dr. Christodoulou has served as the global chair of Hellenic and Cypriot Affairs for the world’s largest Greek organization, AHEPA, and has facilitated many international dialogues between the US, Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean.
Currently, Commissioner Christodoulou represents the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities on the OPSI Board, sits on NARUC’s Critical Infrastructure, International, and Electricity Committees and is a member of GTI Energy’s Public Interest Advisory Committee.
Commissioner Christodoulou earned his doctoral degree in organizational behavior from Pace University, his MBA in International Finance and Management from Fordham University, and his BA from Rutgers College in Economics and Philosophy. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Raritan Valley College and sits on the board of many academic, cultural and philanthropic organizations within the state and nation.
