A Walk In The Park Ribbon Cutting

For Immediate Release

March 27, 2026

The Inaugural “A Walk in the Park,” held on March 24 at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater, New Jersey, welcomed the community to celebrate Horticultural Therapy Week with a free, self-paced sensory experience highlighting the power of plants. Presented by Horticultural Therapy Practitioner Laura DePrado of Final Touch Plantscaping, LLC, in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, Jersey Grown, the Somerset Patriots, and Unity Bank.  The inaugural event invited attendees of all abilities to connect with nature through interactive plant-based activities.

More than 100 guests enjoyed Jersey Grown plants and native florals, received commemorative seed cards and giveaways, and learned about the mental, physical, and emotional benefits of horticultural therapy.   The event emphasized the importance of New Jersey’s plant industry and provided an engaging opportunity for participants of all ages & stages to reduce stress, improve well-being, and celebrate the arrival of spring.

This event was in collaboration with Centerton Nurseries, Barton Nursery, Hionis Greenhouses & Garden Center, Pinelands Nursery, My Backyard at Nectars, Somerset County Business Partnership, RWJ University Hospital Somerset, New Jersey Farm Bureau, and New Jersey Agricultural Society, along with 30 volunteers from the Garden State.
